This decorative paper egg is inspired by the celebrated creations of the House of Fabergé, whose Imperial Easter eggs became emblems of the late Russian court. Commissioned for the Romanov family, the originals combined gold, enamel, precious stones and ingenious miniature surprises with an almost theatrical sense of luxury.
The model echoes that atmosphere of imperial splendour: gilded ornament, rich colour and an object conceived as much for display as for delight. It suggests the world of palace interiors, ceremonial gifts and exquisitely crafted curiosities in which Fabergé’s masterpieces naturally belonged.
